FAQ’s and Q’s

Morocco has many International Airports:

  • Getting to Morocco: There are several international airports in Morocco, including Mohamed V Casablanca (CMN), Menara Airport in Marrakech (RAK), Agadir (AGA), and Tangier (TNG). If you fly into a different airport, let your travel provider know so they can assist you.
  • Currency: The currency in Morocco is Dirham (MAD). You can obtain Dirhams at ATMs in airports or throughout the country, as they are not traded internationally. Euros are also accepted in Morocco, but you may receive change in Dirhams.
  • Visa Requirements: Citizens of the United States, European Union, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand do not need a visa to enter Morocco for stays under three months. Upon arrival, you will need to fill out a landing card with your accommodation details.
  • Tipping: It’s customary to tip around 10-15% of your bill in Morocco. Avoid tipping children, as it can encourage begging.

Dress Code:

  • Morocco’s dress code is relatively relaxed compared to other Islamic countries, especially in major cities. However, it’s best to dress modestly outside city centers. In summer, wear light, loose clothing and protect your head with a hat or turban. In spring and autumn, a light jacket is recommended, and in winter, warmer clothing is a must.

Weather:

  • The best time to visit Morocco is from March to May and September to October. Winter (January and February) can be cold, but there are fewer tourists. The weather varies due to the diverse landscape.

Culture:

  • Morocco is a liberal Islamic country. As a tourist, you may be restricted from entering mosques if you’re not Muslim. During Ramadan, the fasting month, expect some challenges as some places may close during the day.
  • While alcohol is prohibited in Islamic countries, Morocco caters to tourists, and many bars, hotels, and restaurants serve alcoholic drinks.

These guidelines can help you have a smooth and enjoyable experience during your trip to Morocco!
